Royces travelled to near neighbours Melbourne in this re-arranged league encounter knowing that the business end of the season is approaching. With both teams level on points in the league standings victory was a must to keep in contact with the leading teams in the league.

 

Royces arrived at Cockshut Lane to meet a Melbourne team decimated by a previously arranged trip to Doncaster races. League rules not allowing any re-arrangement of the fixture so game on.

 

An indifferent performance by Royces saw them take a 48 v 0 half team lead and finished the game at 90 v 0.
